Iain Carruthers

Iain is a senior insight and innovation specialist.   He started professional life selling beer for Scottish & Newcastle Breweries and this led to market research (Millward Brown, Added Value, ICM) and brand consultancy (Interbrand).

A qualitative specialist who also knows his numbers, Iain’s worked on both b2b and b2c issues for clients including Nat West, Vodafone, Proctor & Gamble, Jack Daniels, Three, The Scottish Government, Aviva and Macmillan, across every continent. 

He has a particular interest and expertise in financial services, having worked on current account design (NatWest), digital banking (Atom), insurance and investment services (Aviva) and credit cards (Virgin, Barclaycard). He has also worked extensively on the issue of transitioning from debt, and volunteers as a money coach for one of the main debt charities.

He has two books to his name, one a biography of the Dyson business, the other a primer on narrative in business.
